What pees me off is that Telefonica are bending over backwards to get new customers signed up for their ADSL services with cut rate packages and fancy bells and whistles while they run rough shod over us old faithfuls. We've been with them for ~4 years, and were paying 150€ a month for, what we were assured at the time we requested it (4 years or so ago), the fastest possible internet on the island. Turns out when we asked it was 8mb download speed, and though the cost was a little expensive, we paid it due to the necessity of needing it.A few weeks back, I was looking at something totally unrelated and saw that Telefonica charge ~44€ for 8mb internet! I immideatly rang them, only to find out that we weren't on 8mb as I thought...we were on TWENTY mb. The real kicker here is that we were only receiving 8mb.When I informed them of this, they said it was due to the standard Telefonica router not being ADSL2 compatible - so I went straight out, and got one (thanks to Blue Island Computers :P) and lo and behold, after getting home...I was still on 8mb.I demanded to put in a complaint and a request for the money back that we'd been paying (which later got declined, but thats a whole other story!) and that they put me down to 10mb.They finally complied with this, and when they put me DOWN to 10mb, guess what speed I was getting? 10mb, on the nose.Telefonica wind me up :P Funnily enough, I had a nightmare with Telefonica too recently.
