If you have ever tried to find the direct number of a hotel in Tenerife you will know that it is not an easy task. Sites like my own eTenerife do not list these numbers at least partly because should we do so, then the visitors can click off, book direct and we’ve just lost the smidgen of commission we are given for referring a customer. More often than not, the client is given no further discount for booking direct as the affiliate programmes run by websites book in bulk and guarantee low prices.

But what about if you have a relative staying in a hotel in Los Cristianos and want to phone up to make an arrangement to meet. You can scour the internet till you are blue in the face but the hotel companies themselves seem to be reluctant to be found. Trying to call directory enquiries is like asking Basil Fawlty for directions unless you are a fluent Spanish speaker … so what to do?
Well here is a tip: The Tenerife Tourist Offices and Kiosks have lists of hotel numbers and they are manned by clever cookies who can give you the number you want in English, French, German and who knows how many other languages.
