Just in case you fancy something a little different with your sundowners at the seafront, I recommend you try a popular Tenerife dish of camerones. Though the camareros might pull your leg and call this a dish of bichos (insects, bugs), this little plate of shrimps is very tasty indeed.

My kids, taking the bichos comment on board, looked on in horror as Gaga and I tucked into this plate of ‘bugs’ and were for once quite satisfied to eat what they had been given, just in case we force fed them bichos instead. LOL. I wonder what they would make of haggis.
